For beginners who fall off at the third jump.

The best rolling ball games for iPhone, compared from their App Store listings rather than from memory, with a sorter that turns what you care about into a pick. Ours is in the table. So is the fact that it has a subscription.

  1. Before you download

    Honest limits, ours first

    There is a subscription.

RushOrb Plus is optional and auto-renewing. The listing says it is for style and bonus rewards, never for clearing stages. Still: it exists, and you will see it.

    36 stages, then Endless.

A hand-built journey ends. If you want hundreds of levels, TENKYU's listing claims hundreds and ours does not.

    Two things to think about.

Steer and call the weather. It is one more decision than swipe-left-swipe-right, and it is the point of the game. Some beginners will not want the second decision.

    New app, few reviews.

Released 15 October 2026. We left star ratings out of the table on purpose; ours has almost none.

  2. What it looks like

    Three screenshots from the listing

RushOrb stage 1-2: a critter orb rolls along a snowy track toward a landmark called The Needle, with Frost, Blaze and Gale buttons and a thunder meter
One thumb steers; the three weather buttons sit under the other.
RushOrb Call the Weather help screen explaining Frost, Blaze and Gale, Storm Walls, Frost Bridges and bonus moves
The in-app explainer. Frost freezes bridges, Blaze melts gates, Gale lifts.

A map with a finish. Each stage: reach the gate, light three beacons, one challenge.
  3. Sort what matters to you

Drag these into your order, get a pick

Most important at the top. On a phone, press and drag, or use the arrows. The pick is computed from the table below, where anything a listing does not state scores zero, which favours apps with detailed listings. Ours is one of those, so read the why.

    1. 1A real finish line, not endless
    2. 2No ads

    6. 6Nothing to buy, ever

    Your pick, from the listings

    1. Who should skip it

      Not for

      • People who hate subscriptions on sight. It is optional and does not gate stages, but it is there. Pick one of the one-time or no-purchase apps if that is a dealbreaker.
      • Pure reflex players. If the appeal of a ball game is swipe, swipe, die, retry at speed, the weather calls will feel like homework.
      • Anyone on iOS 17 or older. The listing requires iOS 18.
      • Collectors who want hundreds of levels. 36 stages and Endless. See the table.

"Listing does not say" is not "no": the big free ball games may well run ads and sell purchases, but their descriptions do not state it, and we only print what we can point at. Check the In-App Purchases line on each store page. Download sizes are from the US store on the same day.

    3. Beginner questions

Is RushOrb hard for a beginner?

The listing describes one-thumb steering, hand-built stages with a finish gate, and three sparks per stage where only the first (reaching the gate) is needed to move on. So you can finish a stage badly and still progress; the beacon and challenge sparks are for coming back later. We have not seen a difficulty setting mentioned.

      Do I need two hands?

You steer with one thumb. Calling a weather (Frost, Blaze, Gale) is a tap on the dial, which the listing describes as the other thumb; on a phone most people will do both with one hand in short runs and two when a stage gets busy.

      Does it work offline?

Yes, per the listing: no ads, no account, full offline play. Game Center leaderboards and the Daily challenge's shared seed will need a connection when you want to sync.

Does the subscription block any stages?

The listing says the optional cosmetic packs and RushOrb Plus are for style and bonus rewards, never for clearing stages, and coins are earned only by playing. Plus is an auto-renewing subscription; read the terms before tapping.

      What is the Weather Dial?

A three-way switch. Frost freezes ghost bridges solid and locks you onto rails; Blaze melts glass gates and runs faster; Gale lightens the orb and stretches jumps. Storm Walls only part for the weather they are painted with, which is the whole puzzle.

      Is it OK for kids?

Rated 4+ with no ads and no account per the listing. There is an optional subscription, so set Screen Time purchase limits if a child has your phone.
