until Thanksgiving Thursday, 26 November 2026. Download before the airport Wi-Fi asks you to watch a 30-second video.

This chat is written by us; the questions are the ones people type into a search box the night before a flight. Everything about the app comes from its App Store listing, read on 4 November 2026.

  1. Wednesday, 9:40 pm

  2. Travelerflight is 5 hrs tomorrow and the airline wifi wants $19 for "messaging". searched "games to play on a plane without wifi" and got forty lists that all start with Candy Crush
  3. Honest Little AppsMost of those lists were written for the ad revenue. Here is the actual test: turn airplane mode on now, open the game, play for two minutes. If it still runs, it will run at 35,000 feet. If it shows a spinner, delete it.
  4. Travelerok but is it even allowed to play during takeoff
  5. Honest Little AppsIn the US, yes, in airplane mode. The FAA decided in 2013 that airlines can allow personal electronics in all phases of flight as long as cellular is off; airlines set their own rollout, and crew instructions win. Headphones in, phone in airplane mode, and you are fine from gate to gate.
  6. Travelerwhat would you actually bring
  7. Honest Little AppsWe make Fluxo, so take this with that in mind. It is a one-touch gravity runner: you ride the floor or the ceiling of a neon tunnel and tap to flip between them. No account, no login, no internet required, per the listing. One thumb, short runs, nothing to download mid-flight.
  8. Who it is not for

  9. Travelerbefore I download it, who should NOT bother
  10. Honest Little Apps
    • People who want a story. There are no chapters and no ending. It is score chasing, every run from zero.
    • Anyone who will not tolerate an ad break. The free version has house-ad breaks (the listing's words). The one-time premium removes them; if you will not pay and will not tolerate them, skip it.
    • Live multiplayer fans. The Daily Challenge is the same course for everyone that day, but you compete by sharing a score link, not head-to-head.
    • Controller people. It is built for a tap. No gamepad mentioned anywhere in the listing.
  11. How it works, three steps

  12. Travelerfine. what do I do tonight so it works tomorrow
  13. Honest Little Apps
    1

    On the ground, download it

About 15 MB per the listing, iOS 18 or newer. Do it on home Wi-Fi tonight, not at the gate.

    2

Open it once, then airplane mode

The first run coaches you with a TAP TO FLIP prompt. Play one run so that is done. Then flip airplane mode on and play one more to prove it to yourself.

    3

    In the air, tap

Tap to flip gravity. Re-flip mid-air to thread gaps. Three near-miss dodges in a row ignite FEVER. Every 8 points a new sector changes the rule. PLAY AGAIN restarts instantly.

Try the one control, ten seconds

    0flips · 10s

That is the whole control scheme. In the app the tunnel moves and the spikes are real.

  14. Compared with the usual flight time-killers

  15. Travelerwhy not just download a movie
  16. Honest Little Apps

Do both. The honest difference is what each needs from you before takeoff and how much attention it takes once the drinks cart blocks the aisle. Swipe sideways.

Three screenshots from the listing, tinted to match the page. Tap or hover to see the real colours. The third one is the honest one: the revive and double-gold buttons are watch-an-ad offers, which will not load in the air.

  20. Questions from the same chat

  21. Honest Little Apps
Does Fluxo work in airplane mode?

Per the App Store listing: no account, no login, no internet required. The run, the three modes, the pilots and the missions are on the phone. The two things that need a connection are the share link for daring a friend and the optional watch-an-ad revive, which will not load without signal, so you get a plain Retry.

What do I need to do before boarding?

Download it on the ground (about 15 MB per the listing, iOS 18 or newer), open it once so the first-run TAP TO FLIP coaching is done, then switch to airplane mode. That is the whole list.

    Is it free?

Yes. The listing says the full game is playable free, with house-ad breaks in the free version and a one-time optional premium (2x gold, free revives, no house-ad breaks, the Golden Fluxo pilot). Never a subscription.

Is there a story or levels to finish?

No. It is an endless one-touch runner: every 8 points you enter a new sector with its own rule, and a Daily Challenge gives one fixed course per day. If you want chapters and an ending, this is the wrong app and we say so below.

Is it OK for kids on the flight?

The App Store rating is 4+ and there is no chat or account. There are optional purchases and ad prompts in the free version, so set Screen Time purchase limits if a child has your phone.

Will it make me motion sick in a window seat?

It is fast by design. The listing lists toggles for screen shake, reduced effects and haptics, and it honors iOS Reduce Motion; Zen mode has no wipeouts. If you are prone to motion sickness in the air, switch those on before you start, or pick something slower.

  22. Travelerok downloading. airplane mode test now
  23. Honest Little AppsGood. Window seat, headphones, one thumb. Safe flight.
