A fruit of the Spirit family devotional for Advent that fits between dinner and bed: 24 days, one fruit each, one two-minute practice, scratch-to-reveal so the kids do the opening. Runs on paper or with Ninefruit, the app we make.
Most families know the list. Few have a plan for Tuesday. This is the plan for Tuesday, and the other 23 days.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control, from Galatians 5:22-23. The World English Bible, which Ninefruit quotes word for word, reads: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control.”
One fruit, one real situation, one small thing to try, two minutes. Not a lesson on all nine. The calendar below runs that shape for 24 days; the app runs it every day of the year with a Beginner, Teen or Adult reading style and family conversation cards.
No. Scratch the days on paper if you like; the practices are all on this page. The app adds the daily situation with choices, the plain-words verse explanations, nine practice tools, games, and a private journal, with Family Mode asking for a grown-up before purchases or links.
Free, per the listing: today’s moment every day, Help Me Practise, a starter plan and its tool, daily rounds of every game, weekly challenges, the journal, the orchard and study cards, the 9 Fruit reflection and the widget. Premium adds all nine plans and tools, the full moment library, every Decision Story, unlimited games, the full family deck and insights, annual with a trial or a one-time Lifetime.
The listing says welcoming to Christians of every tradition; explanations are kept separate from the Bible text, which is the public-domain World English Bible.
Rated 4+. Reading styles for Beginner, Teen and Adult; situations from the playground to the workplace. The Advent practices above are written for a mixed table, roughly six and up with a grown-up reading.
A child scratches the foil (below, or on paper under a sticker). One fruit, one practice. No reading ahead.
The practice is small on purpose: a note, a pause, a jar, a job. Do it at the table or right after. In the app, Today’s Moment gives a real situation with choices first.
One sentence each: where did that fruit show up today, in someone else? Point to the person. That is the whole devotional.

Drag a finger or the mouse across a day. The fruit and the practice are underneath. Nothing is saved; reload and the foil is back, which is handy for a second child.
The practice appears here when a day is mostly uncovered.
Day 24 is Christmas Eve, which is the 24 December; Advent itself begins on Sunday 29 November 2026. Start on 1 December, or start on the 29th and double up twice; nobody is checking.
These stack. A Jesse Tree in the morning and a fruit at dinner is a fine Advent.
All nine practice plans and tools, the full moment library and the full family deck are Premium: annual with a trial, or a one-time Lifetime. Continue Free is always available, per the release notes.
The World English Bible, public domain, word for word. Your church’s translation will differ slightly.
The listing says it: not a test of your faith, no score, no judgement, and not counselling. It never asks anyone to stay somewhere unsafe.
Version 2.0 is a rebuild from October 2026. Few reviews yet.
6:40 pmThe seven-year-old scratches the foil with a spoon handle and reads “Patience” with disgust. The practice is The Pause: count three before answering when someone interrupts.
6:41 pmShe is interrupted within the minute by her brother. She counts three, loudly, on her fingers, then answers. The brother is outraged that it worked.
7:15 pmAt “say what you saw”, the brother says he saw patience when Dad did not shout about the spilled juice. Dad had not noticed he was being patient. That is the devotional working.
LaterIn the app, the adult does Today’s Moment alone: a coworker takes credit; three choices; the verse; one thing to try tomorrow. Two minutes. The orchard’s patience tree moves to Sprout.
Ninefruit: Fruit of the Spirit. One real situation a day, the Bible in plain words, one thing to try. Beginner, Teen and Adult styles, Family Mode, a private journal. No account, no ads, offline.
The 24 practices are ours. Nothing on this page is doctrine; adapt freely for your tradition.
